About Jim O’Ferrell

Playing his first gig at age 15, Jim O’Ferrell is a self taught, life long guitar strummer.

Enlisting into the US Army after high school, he continued to play guitar and sing songs wherever the military sent him. Jim deployed twice to the war in Iraq, performing in base talent shows when he could and giving guitar classes to fellow soldiers between missions.

Leaving military life in 2008, Jim charged into music full time, writing and recording songs influenced by rock, alternative rock, Americana, and blues. With his band, The J.O.B., he has performed hundreds of live shows in 14 states, written & recorded scores of songs, and had three singles reach the national AC Top 40 charts in the United States.

Jim also enjoys performing solo acoustic shows at vineyards, wineries, craft breweries, and special venues and events all over Virginia.

Jim supports the DAV (Disabled American Veterans), the USO (United Services Organization), and is a Life Member of the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Post 6364 in Richmond, Virginia.
